Bought a firearm online, selling to someone local, or shipping one out? We handle the paperwork and background check — by appointment in Henderson, NV.
FEES AT A GLANCE
Simple, flat-rate transfers
Transfer fee
Inbound or outbound. Plus NV sales tax — no sales tax on person-to-person transfers.
Background check
Nevada state NICS fee. Waived for valid CCW holders.
Lock fee
Only if your firearm arrives without a lock.
Outbound shipping
Actual shipping cost plus $10. Ships via UPS or USPS.
HOW IT WORKS
Three ways we can help
BOUGHT ONLINE OR OUT OF STATE
Inbound transfers
Purchased a firearm or NFA item online or from out of state? Have the selling dealer ship it to us — we run the background check and complete the transfer.
- Have your seller’s FFL email us at [email protected] with:
- A copy of their FFL
- Your legal name, email and phone
- Your purchase receipt showing taxes paid (otherwise tax is collected on fair market value)
- We email the seller our FFL and they ship your firearm to us. It’s your responsibility to make sure the seller ships promptly. No private-party mail transfers.
- Within 48 hours of receipt, we call you to schedule your pickup appointment.
- Bring a government-issued ID (and your CCW permit, if you have one). You can’t take possession if the background check is delayed or denied.
NFA items: we arrange your fingerprints and photo with our nearby partner shop — included in your transfer fee.
LOCAL PRIVATE SALES
Person-to-person transfers
Buying from or selling to someone local? We make the transfer of a firearm or NFA item legal and fully documented.
- Buyer and seller agree to the terms of sale before the appointment.
- Buyer pays the seller, and all fees are paid in advance.
- Buyer completes all required background paperwork.
- If a NICS check is required, the buyer returns to pick up once it’s approved. 2A Guns can hold the firearm until then — or the seller keeps it and returns with the buyer to complete the transaction.
SOLD TO SOMEONE ELSE
Outbound transfers
Sold a firearm online to another individual? We’ll ship it to their dealer. Transferring a large number of firearms? Ask us about a custom rate.
- Schedule an appointment to bring in your firearm(s).
- Bring a copy of the receiving dealer’s FFL — we only ship to valid FFL holders.
- Bring a valid government-issued ID.
- Once we complete verification, your firearm ships.
Good to know: holds, cancellations & abandonment
- Holding period
- Transfers are held for 14 days from the date of receipt unless 2A Guns approves a longer timeframe. Any firearm left uncollected or not transferred after 14 days without contacting 2A Guns becomes the property of 2A Guns.
- Failed background check (person-to-person)
- If 2A Guns holds the firearm and the buyer is unable to pass the NICS background check, the buyer has 3 days to resolve the issue with the seller. If the seller retakes possession of the firearm, all background checks must be completed and all fees paid. If the issue isn’t resolved within 3 days, the firearm becomes the property of 2A Guns.
- Cancelled transfers
- If a transfer has to be cancelled for any reason — including being unable to pass the NICS review, or being unable or unwilling to complete the required paperwork and pay the fees — you’ll be charged the outbound transfer and shipping fees. If the transfer fees and return shipping aren’t paid, the firearm becomes the property of 2A Guns.
